Frequency of Each Illocutionary Act of Each Character This is the overall result from every character in Kevin’s body. As you can see from the graph, the characters use Assertive mostly because it is the easiest way to continue the whole story within 2 hours. So, we will focus more on Directive, Commissive and Expressive ,and talk in details of each characters. Dennis Dennis is the main character who normally used assertive to run the story. But you can see that it followed by the used of Directive around19%. This is because he had Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. He obsessed with cleanliness. He always orders other people to clean by using direct speech. Barry Another important identity is Barry. We can see from the pie chart that the second most used speech act is Expressive (the green one).
